The phonics screening check is a short test taken by all children in England in Year 1. It is usually taken in June and this year was scheduled be taken during the week beginning 8 June 2020.(Please note: Due to school closures, the phonics screening check will not take place this year.)The check is designed to give teachers and parents information on how your child is progressing in phonics.

This Phonics Screening Survival: Intervention Booster Pack will give a daily boost to any children that need additional help to prepare for the end of year one phonics test. Each of the 8 weekly packs builds into a daily progressive Phonics intervention covering sounds from Phase 2 to Phase 5 as well as regularly rehearsing the key skills of decoding and blending in real and nonsense words.
The phonics screening is a light assessment to confirm whether the student has learnt phonic decoding to a standard of their age.
